A globally optimised native code compiler which operates in protected mode
under UNIX. The upper limit on segment size in linear address mode is four
gigabytes; this makes it possible to port mainframe applications to your 80386
or 80486 systems. These compilers are ideal for serious programmers who write
numerically intensive applications that address large arrays. When used to
re-compile existing 16-bit programs, execution speed increases of up to seven
times can be achieved. The C++ is a superset of C that includes in-line
functions, classes (user-defined data types), single and multiple inheritance,
constructors and destructors, operator overloading, function-name overloading,
free-store management operators, references, function argument checking, and a
new function definition syntax. It is a flexible, general-purpose programming
language that provides efficient facilities for defining new types as well as
the procedures and operations that create, manipulate and destroy them (a
concept known as data abstraction). By utilising data abstraction, it is also
possible to create hierarchical data structures that simplify program design
and help prevent programming mistakes.
